Due to the mechanics of the game, most new players field teams that consist of 1 “defender” and 2 “attacker” Cryptoids. The defender, or a tank, should be placed in the front of your team so that it draws incoming attacks like you can see in this example. Please keep in mind that that balancing updates can change the effectiveness of certain Cryptoids & cards.
Each Cryptoid can draw from a pool of 4 potential cards in battle. Each card comes from a body part— Ears, Weapon, Tail, and Horn.
One of the most important Cryptoids to have in your team is a defender/tank since you need a strong frontline for your other Cryptoids to deal damage. If you don't have a tank, your whole team is going to be squishy and you'll have no time to deal enough damage without your Cryptoids dying first.
A “defender”, or a tank, can be defined as:
Adept at absorbing damage.
High HP stat (50+).
Having at least 2 high shield cards (70+). More is preferable but it can also increase the price quickly.
