๐ŸŒŸWin-to-Earn

Current State

Updated: (April 2022)

World of Cryptoids has been launched for nearly three months and the player growth has been significantly above our expectations. This has not only been captured in the activity of both of tokens but by the breeding activity in the first few months. We have also experienced and seen a number of issues regarding our previous model for sustainability.

With that said, we will begin to make an increasing amount of changes towards a few core factors which we believe are key for sustaining the economy.

  • CGC Emissions

  • CGC Burnt (Challenge, Breeding)

In the current state, we see an increasing amount of CGC emissions that were not being burnt in a sustainable way. As such, changes that are targeted towards balancing this ratio is extremely important. We will in the coming updates make changes that will affect both the emissions and burn rates and this starts with reducing the Emissions from players.

While this may seem harsh, over the long term if CGC Burnt is greater than Emissions we should see a gentle gravitation towards a more stable economy.

Win-To-Earn

The Win-To-Earn model follows a series of changes and implementations that have been designed to allow for a more robust ecosystem. This includes achieving the ultimate goal of moving players away from the endless grind that is the Adventure mode. This mode was subject to bots, mindless gameplay and generally uninterested players. Players were grinding for the sake of earning mCGC and it was the only way to grind.

Taking into consideration the future direction of the game we have decided to shift the player base towards that of the PvP arena in order to shore up a few main concerns:

  • Players should have fun while playing - PvP is by far the more exciting option

  • Cryptoids should have some value for having strong skills, this does not get reflected in Adventure only modes

  • Adventure Mode should be seen as a supporting feature and did not involve any skill or considerations on Cryptoids stats

  • Arena is the de-facto standard for determining the ultimate value of Cryptoids

These changes will bring together a more defined role of Cryptoids in the ecosystem and will give players an incentive to continue breeding stronger Cryptoids. This in essence will also push out the Cryptoids with lower and uninteresting stat skills into our next game iteration which in the future will allow for traits to be rerolled.

Changes

Adventure

Adventure game mode has been the main game mode for daily mCGC earnings, as well as for leveling up your Cryptoids. We have decided to shift the mCGC earning mainly to PvP game modes, making Adventure a relaxing game mode and an experience source, if you want to power up your Cryptoids. Have in mind that Adventure mode still uses energy, so make sure you wisely use your energy.

-Adventure game mode no longer provides any mCGC

-Adventure still requires energy and gives your Cryptoids experience

Arena

The most affected game mode in this patch is Arena. Being the most popular game mode, we wanted to make it more satisfying and rewarding. We have removed free Cryptoids from Arena, since it made the Arena experience unsatisfying, with the advantage highly leaning towards the player not using them. Arena is limited to maximum 20 matches daily, so all players should have an equal chance of placing high on the leaderboard, and make Arena more competitive. We have changed the maximum cap of mCGC you can earn daily, making it more beneficial and rewarding playing Arena. Thereโ€™s also a battle energy tweak where you will be required to think more strategically instead of slamming skills because of energy galore.

-Free/Novice Cryptoids cannot be used in Arena anymore

-You now need energy to participate in Arena (1 energy per match, daily 20 matches maximum)

-Daily mCGC cap for Arena is now 360 instead of 180 -Winning a battle in Arena now awards you with 24 mCGC, losing gives you 3 mCGC

-Battle energy gain is reduced to 4 from 6 from round 2 and onwards. You only get 6 energy at the start of a battle

Ultimate Challenge

Ultimate Challenge, being the newest game mode, is performing fine for now. The only change is related to energy since it is a general improvement. Weโ€™ll keep track of Ultimate Challenge for the future updates, if anything is needed to be changed or tweaked. We already plan some updates for Challenge, so make sure to stay tuned for the news!

-Battle energy gain is reduced to 4 from 6 from round 2 and onwards. You only get 6 energy at the start of a battle
