The battles will be turn-based. At the start of a turn, each player chooses which skills they want to use from the skills pool. Each skill costs a certain amount of energy. At the start of a battle, each player starts with 6 energy. At the start of each following turn, the players will get 4 additional energy to their energy pool. Players can choose to save energy for upcoming turns.
There are many combos you will be able to discover, making it very fun and strategic.
In addition, Cryptoids’ races and the race of their skills come to play. Forming a team that covers all of its weaknesses can be tricky. Let’s look at the Race chart down below.
Let’s say your favorite Cryptoid’s race is Technology. Technology is strong against Spirit, but weak against Food. Having that in mind, you would probably want to have a Fashion Cryptoid to counter the Food Cryptoid. With that logic, the same goes for Fashion, since it’s weak against Vitamin, you would probably want to have an Animal Cryptoid which is strong against Vitamin. But then again, your Animal Cryptoid is weak to the Spirit Cryptoid you’re anticipating that your Technology Cryptoid will take care of. It’s really complex and forming an ideal team can be very tricky. The battling system can be very complex if you look at it as a whole. It’s not just clicking the cards, there’s more to it like strategy, combo, races, etc.
On top of all of this there are formations. Typically you put your “defender” or a “tank” in front to soak up all of the damage. So knowing that, you could put two “attackers” that are strong against the race your tank is weak against. You could invent a whole new strategy. It’s up to you and your imagination.
